Creating this symbolic abstract painting, I designed a range of conceptual shapes, choosing those that would best project their distinctive elements in unison. I selected a vibrant, luminous palette for the forms, carefully managing the surrounding negative space to maintain overall harmony. Each side features a gap, serving as an imaginary passage to other realms. 

This painting was inspired by Marcel Duchamp's 'Neuilly' painting, 1911. I wanted a painting that evokes sublimity and remoteness, combined with rich, vibrant colours at sunrise. I love the idea of a dark, foreboding, woodland glade on the open area of the hillside.
